Crazy and a goon
This is what some people think of me
I can't imagine why.

Gravy and a spoon
This is how I like
to finish off
my roast dinner
Ideally with a slice of bread too.

Gran and a spade
This is what I'll do
in my new garden
Dig a whole and plant
a granny smith apple tree;
just need to sell the house.

Plan and they played
After a few weeks thinking and
getting people together
the weekend event kicked off
and the band were wicked
and almost 100 of us
worshipped with great joy.

I can't believe it

nearly a week's rushed past
and all I've done
is 1 small blog entry
finished my third book of the year
seen two films
had my share of around 6 bottles of wine
been to London
been out for pasta
played fiddle
washed the car
got the car dirty
washed the car

it's amazing that being a year older
makes absolutely no difference
maybe that's because I was born in the year of the rabbit
and now it's the ox
there you have it.

New men
we have a new man in charge of the world - I mean the states
and a new one
in charge of the norwich city- I mean the footy club
and a new one
in charge of the taxi driving firm - in the book I'm reading
and a new one
in charge on annoying me - I mean encouraging me

So all new.

We also have the same old
diet - which is doing no good
falling share prices - which is doing no good
rubbish bike breaks - still doing no good
rubbish service at pizza express

I almost
wrote about Norwich's Stunning Comeback
or my Stunning Birthday Party
or the Stunning Sunshine this Lunchtime
I was thinking about appraisals at work this week.
and wondered if I (or my boss) could could get any of these in:

Since my last report, this employee has reached rock bottom and has started to dig. I would not allow this employee to breed. This employee is really not so much of a has-been, but more of a definite won't be.Works well when under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in a trap. He sets low personal standards an then consistently fails to achieve them. This employee should go far, and the sooner he starts, the better. A photographic memory but with the lens cover glued on. If you give him a penny for his thoughts, you'd get change. The wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead.

What a to do
Well what a wicked week we've witnessed
Norwich now no
manager managing
our slump to relegation
And that after I'd taken my buddy
to watch the team
fight their way to the next round of the FA cup
Except they didn't
in fact the could have fought
their way out of
a paper bag
on the night.
And now it's Thursday
and it should definitely be the weekend tomorrow
it isn't.

First Trip
of the year
to London
read my first paper of the year
finished my second book of the year
had three large glasses of water
(a new year thing!)
saw at least 4 new Olympic building in East London
met Google on floor five
had meeting with six friends
back in Norwich, this evening
watched the start of Day 7 on 24.

Lovely service this week, where this poem by Rossetti was read:

REMEMBER me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Over Half Way Through
the first week at work
it wasn't so bad you know.

but problem with bike
rather new helmet
soo0 cold, reverted to wool

Thursday will warm up
frost will disappear
helmet will be back on head!

Good Intentions
I have started the New Year with good intentions
I have washed two cars
including the inside
I have put away all my new socks
I am half way through my second book
I have not watched rubbish tv
Apart from the last episode of Desperate Housewives
Now all I need to do is
turn 46 gracefully
paint the fence
get without my verruca
and my 2009 will be complete!

New Year starts with a small snap
The smallest bird in the UK,
I think,
Poking it's head out of a Yew tree.
You all have yourselves
a very happy 2009.
