All from the good book (verses provided on request!)

Dear Blog Reader,

You may not know me, but I know everything about you.

I know when you sit down and when you rise up. I am familiar with all your ways. Even the very hairs on your head are numbered. For you were made in my image. In me you live and move and have your being. For you are my offspring. I knew you even before you were conceived. I chose you when I planned creation. You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book. I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. I knit you together in your mother's womb. And brought you forth on the day you were born.

I have been misrepresented by those who don't know me. I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love. And it is my desire to lavish my love on you. Simply because you are my child and I am your Father. I offer you more than your earthly father ever could. For I am the perfect father. Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand. For I am your provider and I meet all your needs. My plan for your future has always been filled with hope. Because I love you with an everlasting love.

My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore. And I rejoice over you with singing. I will never stop doing good to you. For you are my treasured possession. I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul. And I want to show you great and marvellous things.

If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me. Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart. For it is I who gave you those desires. I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine. For I am your greatest encourager. I am also the Father who comforts you in all your troubles. When you are broken-hearted, I am close to you. As a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart. One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes. And I'll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth.

I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus. For in Jesus, my love for you is revealed. He is the exact representation of my being. He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you. And to tell you that I am not counting your sins. Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled. His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you.

I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love. If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me. And nothing will ever separate you from my love again. Come home and I'll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. I have always been Father, and will always be Father.

My question is…Will you be my child? I am waiting for you.

Love, Your Dad

You are amazing

Just got my new laptop
Undid it this weekend
Lots of fun and downloading this weekend
I feel complete again
Except I have to learn about Vista

Why do I get so excited
It's funny really
Only a few wires and bits and bobs.

Much better is the song I sang
This weekend:

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Perfect Windows

I had fun tonight out
at the cinema
where I watched Hot Fuzz
a film (oh yes, that's what we do at the cinema)
which made me laugh
out loud - and more than once.
It was very silly, but,
a bit like all these funny things
there was a serious thought running throughout.

That thought (or so I thunked)
was that you can't use force
to force perfectness on a non perfect world.

Today I also tried to think of the 5 people
who had, over the last few (i.e. 100 years)
had the most influence on the world.
It was a struggle. I wonder why?
I eventually came to the same conclusion as lots of other people
Bill Gates
Unfortunately.

Run baby run.....

Every morning in Africa,
a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in Africa,
a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle,
when the sun comes up,
you’d better be running.”

Red

Red is the colour
I get when
I open up my email system at work
Red means 'unread'
and I have lots of them
all unread.

Red is the colour
of my face
when I've had a hard game
of squash
therefore I'm pretty pale
because I've not been playing

Red is the colour
of the setting sun on
a warm
summer's day
but I've forgotten
what that looks like.

Red is the colour
a the wine a friend brought round last night
and of the wine I had this lunchtime
both were good
I'll never forget
that red wine is sooo good

Red is the colour
of my black laptop screen
which is still broken
Is that's why I've not
been writing much recently.

Red is good and bad

Three Pictures, Same Forest

Having had a few days away, thought I'd pop up some pics of our latest trip into the New Forest.
Given that it was February, dull, wet and relatively cold, I managed to find three minutes of sun, and seeing as what it takes me so long to take pictures, only managed these three!!

On a slightly less happy note, my screen on my laptop has broken - so I've no idea what these look like!

PC world, or laptops direct, here I come.

No Snow
I woke up this morning in great expectation that I'd be snowed in and therefore unable to cycle to work and so not have to do all those emails and reports which have been waiting since Christmas when I was keen to get home to enjoy the food that had been lovingly prepared but of course the snow had been hyped up and there was nothing so the emails and reports were done and I felt a bit better of course if there had been snow I would quickly have become cold and wet maybe even come off my bike and then have to spend a damp evening reading blogs which are of course a great thing to read because you find out other people thoughts and ideas which most often are so much better than mine but the thoughts I heard tonight were from a dozen or so extremely gifted children who were on tv making fascinating viewing rather glad that my chicks and sorry if you don't like being called a chicks were kind of normal most of the gifted kids had various hangups whereas the chicks who used to be in my nest don't seem to have so many back to the snow I think I've had it for this year so the sledge remains hung up and drying out in the garage full stop

Here we go.......

Exactly as I predicted
Most of the next two weeks
Premises (i.e. nest) are vacated
Two chicks are gone
Yesteryear seems so long ago

Not that I'm complaining
Everything comes to and end
Some new things are coming
Tomorrow is a bright new day

But where are they
Early this morning the youngest
Chick left
Coach wasn't there at 7.15 as planned
Arrival was confirmed 10 hours later

In the whole scheme of things
Nine or ten days isn't too long

Friends will look after me
Relatives will ring me
And I will survive on my lonesome
Now I understand how the bird feels
Coping with and empty nest
Except the bird has a fresh brood the following spring!!!

Wells: view from my bedroom at dawn

Wells: boat on water

Wells: Beach huts
Wells: Beach huts and seals and sun

Norf Norfolk

This was the sky over Norf Norfolk this morning.

Normally it would be clear and blue, but following 9-11, all USA flights to Europe no longer fly above London, but instead over Norf Norfolk. Hence the congestion and vapour trails spoiling my nice sky. Apparently so many flights around the world cause a fractional global cooling, with the vapour blocking out the sun!

On the other hand, we sat outside for lunch in Norf Norfolk today- without a coat. First we've ever done it on this birfday weekend.
