To be sure
Ireland is a lovely place
And the Irish a lovely race
The Guinness tastes well good
As everyone said it would
And the scenery as good as you can get
Even if a little wet.

Check out the photo's
which I took between showers
Come round for a cup of tea and
I'll show you the rest.

Hot and Muggy
which is how I quite like it.
been contemplating my carbon foot print tonight
is it worth worrying about when China and USA
are belching out like there's no tomorrow
or should I lead by example
should I care or not.
Then been contemplating
state versus private education
and finally state, secular and Christian marriage
All I need now is to find someone to agree with me
and then I can have a nice easy discussion.

3 Million
This is the number (approx) of animals in labs all over the UK to be used in scientific experiments.
I'm not sure if this is too large a number or too small a number. If I were a white rat, in said labs I might wish that the experiments cease. On the hand, I wouldn't exist if they did. Is there a moral to this story?

High and Dry
This weekend
visited this boat
at Blackney.
Sat amongst the sea
lavender.
Rather than in the
water.
Don't know how
I got the picture of blue sky
because it wasn't
very.
Talking of blue - I felt at times
and at other times red.
Now I'm waiting to see what the week brings.

Someone
someone to laugh with
someone to cry with
someone to joke with
someone to grumble with
someone to understand you
someone to accept you, whatever
someone to be quiet with
someone to be grumpy with
someone to be crazy with
I suggest this
would be a good someone to find.

Tuesday
That was
Today
Time to plan
Time to re plan
Targets for 2009
Targets that are
Tough
Targets that are
Troublesome
Tuesday
That was
Today
Two hundred days from
Today
Then I'll know if I've
Triumphed
Taking home a huge bonus

Take a dose of reality Steve-ee-g
Targets will be somewhat
Taxing
Twenty quid if I'm lucky.

Camping Weekend
Was great
Somewhat wet - at times
Especially in the sea
But grand
and I had a grand BBQ
which made me think of the BBQ rules - when a man like me volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:
(4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

(5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again:
(7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

(8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
(9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:
(10) Everyone PRAISES and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
(11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed 'her night off.' And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

Three for a Thursday
first, someone asked me for a white Latte coffee
second, I jumped on an open top bus, which was lost - and directed it to the right place
third, I watched the new Narnia film, Prince Caspian -which was pretty good
For the rest of the day I worked, worked, worked.

Winners

Have just about recovered from an epic tennis battle - went to five sets. Have to confess will all humility that I managed to win. But it was a close thing. I thought when Federer came back to 2 all, I was done for. Well done Mr Nadal.
I did play squash today. And had a good old close game.
So 30 or so days to go before the Olympics start -but that will probably be about the best exercise I get for a while - might lead to a few late nights. I predict 7 gold medals. Maybe you'd like to put a bet on it.
Tomorrow is Wednesday - that must mean London.
On the train I shall read about China, bad air, medals for a few minutes, and then get on with emails,,,,,joy!

Breaking News
Yesterday, with the mind working over matter, I put the palm of my hand through a relatively thick block of wood, thus proving that the head and mind is/are amazing, and physical strength don't matter too much. Focus. No bruise, no pain, just two pieces of relatively thick wood to show for all that effort.
Yep, I was on a motivational course.
And I feel motivated.
So over the next few days I might drop in a bit of learning or quotes, like for example.
"We don't always believe what we see, but we always see what we believe".
It's early, I'm up and about. Madness maybe. Off to do some Spring Cleaning in the middle of Summer - how does that work?

Sky Plus
Is a fantastic invention
especially in High Definition
but when you've set something up to record
and a technical thing happens
so the recording fails
you feel a little cheesed off.
5 years ago, this
would have never happened
and I would never have got cheesed off.
So now
I've had to spend 30 seconds
finding the episode on-line
and watching it over the Internet
what a drag.
In five years time,
I reckon I will be able to fit
every episode
of every series
ever made
and store it on an iPod
in my pocket.
And I dare not think
about 5 years after that.
